he was raging to the music. literally, raging. one of best things about living off campus, was the fact being that he could blare his music so loudly the walls would shake, with out disturbing anyone around him. it was truly a ridiculous sight, as most things were with matty. always sticking out so strangely in a crowd, it was weird how he even took visual prevalence in his own home, which had been decorated solely by his sister. no biggie though, in his words. and naturally, he never had to worry about maggie. while their tastes in music differed vastly, she was generally tolerant of his 4AM jam sessions and the like. he bopped around the room like the spaz he was, rocking his head and moving his fingers to the tune in an air guitar that would put the professionals to shame. suddenly he stopped, noticing the glow of the computer. "well, better now than never." he stated quickly to himself before turning off his music. abruptly, he let a rather loud, startling noise comparable to a jungle howl or mating call escape his lungs and fill their home with noise. this was naturally, to alert maggie of his presence. these peculiar outbursts took place several times a day, and sometimes during the night. bouncing back to his bed, be layed down and pulled his laptop onto his stomach. "yo, mags. i'm lazy, get over it quickly" he stated lightening fast,"i'm going to pull an usher right now just because i have a confession. mostly because i've been dying to tell you-" he wasn't nervous, or even embarrassed really. he'd learned early on to throw shame out the door in his family, and he and maggie were just about as close as two people could be, inside and out. she essentially had a live-time update to his daily life, in one way or another and it was rare that he withheld things- from the massive to the minute, for this long. his voice got deathly serious, as did his face. "your friend chelsea is a whore, thanks for introducing us!" his voice cracked into a hearty laugh soon there after.

T he loud music was enough to drive her insane but Maggie was used to it by now. Matty was off in his own little rock star world and Maggie could seemingly care less. She pulled the noise blocking headphones over her ears as she plugged in her ipod. She wasn't quite fond of this everyday occurrence but she put up with it because he was her brother and she loved him like no other. The bond between them was something that couldn't be broken or so she would hope. They were hardly alike anymore - Matty was a social butterfly whereas Maggie had the reputation of nearly attacking the paparazzi multiple times. No one really understood why Maggie was so angry but she couldn't stand the fame of her family name. She wasn't always this way but it seemed over time she slowly changed. She had been used many times by various people all seeking out fame or fortune. Maggie's fingers drummed against her laptop as she awaited the screen to load and she quickly pulled up Skype. She saw her brother's name appear on the side and hit the call button. She was too lazy to actually go and talk to him and with modern technology it was no longer necessary. She heard him begin to ramble and she rolled her eyes as he mentioned Chelsea. She had already heard about this through the internet and she was not amused in the slightest "Yeah, way to go. Hope you have an STD now." she said bitterly as she looked at him. "Can I have the old Matty back? I mean honestly what the fuck happened to you. Trying to compete with Devlin or something?" the words were harsh but she didn't regret them. "Mind leaving me just ONE fucking friend? Oh wait I forgot I don't have any because they are all after your fucking cock you stupid son of a bitch." she pushed the laptop away from her on the bed as she glared over at the screen just awaiting his comeback to all of this. "ouch" was the first thing to escape his lips. her words stung and you could see the shock displayed across his face in a wave of passionate emotion. in reality, matt was desperate to be his brother in many ways, which was honestly ridiculous. he didn't consider himself an insecure person, nor an unhappy one. however he had spent so much of his childhood watching devlin have fun, watching devlin go on dates, watching devlin play baseball, things he could never do. he had no true reason to be jealous. matty was the golden child of his family, forever loved by his mother and held even above his sister lily, and they actually got along compared to his other siblings. however he felt stunted, and was shameless about his new found hot shit reputation. he'd always loved people, and being exposed to all the interesting individuals he got to meet on a daily basis truly made his day. he felt like this outburst was a little unexpected from his sister. while over the years they had grown more different, he remained consistently naive to this change. to matty, they were just as close as they were when they were young with their own secret language and their own uncomplicated life. "maggie, don't even be like that right now." he stated seriously, running a hand through his hair. it was true- he had been a little more promiscuous with her friends than he should have been but she'd never acted like she cared, or he'd never seen that she cared. "it's really unfair to get mad at me because i'm beautiful." he flashed her an award winning smile, sincere and genuine but wasn't shocked when she simply looked at him with a blank stare. "don't you think i deserve to have a little fun? you don't always have to be so fucking cynical."

A ll of her life the spotlight had been on Matthew because of his condition. She was always concerned about her brother but he always had a way of throwing in his pity card whenever needed. His pleas of 'Don't I deserve it?' always seemed to piss her off even though she felt to blame for his condition. She had given him a kidney but yet he seemed to forget about that. Everything was about whether he deserved it or not. Matty's delayed childhood seemed to be going on now but with adult activities such as sex with various women. Maggie was always a bit of stuck in the mud about things but she couldn't help but be turned off by Matthew's new found fame and how much he was loving it. She ignored his joke as she rolled her eyes. She felt so fed up with him for so many reasons but yet she could never truly be mad at her brother. "Don't pull the pity card." she said harshly as she shook her head. "Just because you're healthy doesn't mean you need to act like a jack ass." she looked into the screen once more so turned off by what he had become, "I don't even know you anymore." the words fell from her lips barely above a whisper as she blinked back the tears that had begun forming in her eyes. he really couldn't believe the things that were coming out of his sisters mouth. while the two constantly had problems with each other, matty usually went about them in a much less aggressive way, where is maggie preferred to cut the bullshit and get right to the point. this rarely worked for matty, being admittedly overly sensitive about many issues; but she was interpreting this the wrong way. he wasn't pulling the pity card- he didn't want any pity at all, he just wanted her to understand his situation and why he deserved to be able to do anything he wanted to. more than that, all of the olson children deserved to take opportunity of their wealth and fame, instead of resenting it so much. it seemed that atleast the brunette's of the bunch had developed a really negative attitude; one thar really pissed matty off. he thought his sister of all people would understand his appreciation for life, and that maybe a little bit of it would even rub off on her considering her own familiarity with the concept of death. "i think you're being really out of line, maggie. i don't make you feel like shit because you always want to be in such a shitty mood." he looked at her seriously through the screen making sure that his words didn't sound harsh. "it's so stupid that you just continue to hate things rather than accept them- whether it's with me, or mom and dad, or the paparazzi- get the fuck over it." he saw tears blink in her eyes, and he was trying his hardest to restrain the eyeroll that was just itching to get out. "stop crying." he stated sharply. "this is not that big of a deal, it's not even serious. you act like i'm some sort of monster. all i'm doing is just what everyone else has been doing for their entire fucking lives.
