Sohvi and Rex have never been a normal couple to say the least. They weren’t accustomed to going out on dates like most couples would. They instead found happiness between the sheets letting their bodies do the talking that they couldn’t seem to do otherwise. Sohvi awoke as the sunlight shown brightly on her face and she quickly covered her eyes with her hand as she groaned in displeasure. She pulled the sheets over her face as she looked over towards Rex who was still sound asleep. She knew that they were going to be late if they didn’t get up soon and she sat up wrapping the white sheets around her naked body before getting out of bed. She grabbed a pillow off the ground and threw it over at Rex in hopes of waking him up. “We’re going to be late!” she shouted before dropping the sheet and walking towards the bathroom to take a quick shower. She blinked a bit still trying to wake up as she stepped into the shower and accidently turned on the cold water rather than the warm and she shouted as the water temperature surprised her.
The past few weeks had been simple and rather happy – at least for them. They spent their nights tangled in the sheets with no hopes of ever leaving them. Things were simple at Rex’s apartment and they hardly ever ventured outside if they could help it. The outside world was what made it all complicated. Talking wasn’t something they were good at because more likely than not their discussion would lead to an argument. They were both such opinionated people that they hardly ever wanted to admit they were wrong. The only productive point of their arguments that it often led right back to the bedroom which happened to be the only place they resolve any issues. Sex had a way of curing things that words just couldn’t seem to do. Just a few weeks ago she had stumbled back into his apartment drunk off her ass with a bottle of tequila in hand. She had only one thing in mind that night and it was having sex with Rex. She had missed him so much and while she hated admitting to it she did truly care for him. She could hardly remember the details of that night but all she did know was that she didn’t bring any pants with her.
Rex’s apartment and Sohvi’s had sort of mixed or so it seemed as she had a knack for forgetting almost everything at his place. She walked around his apartment in nothing but a towel as she tried to find something to wear out of the many clothes she had left there over the past few weeks. She found a pair of jeans and she tugged them on her legs before buttoning them. Soon after she found a bra and pulled it on before grabbing a gray pullover and pulling it on her slender frame. She grabbed her necklace from her purse and threw it on before she walked into Rex’s kitchen. Sohvi was no chef to say the least but she could put two poptarts in the toaster. She waited around patiently as she watched Rex getting dressed and she spotted the tattoo on his ass as she laughed. She still couldn’t believe he had actually gotten her name tattooed on his ass but she was proud of it none the less. She knew no one expected Rex to have feelings for anyone but she could feel that he had them for her whether he would admit to that or not was something completely different.
She slipped on a simple pair of black boots before hearing the ding of the toaster. She grabbed both of their poptarts and stuffed hers in her mouth as she held his out towards him. “Good morning.” She said cheerily knowing he most like wasn’t all that happy to be woken up at such an early hour. Of course he had agreed to come to the MET today after quite a few drinks but Sohvi wasn’t going to let him off the hook on account of sobriety. Soon enough they were out the door and hailing a cab that would send them off on their way towards the museum. “This is going to be fun.” She said before grabbing his hand and squeezing it softly as a smile appeared on his face. “Thank you for agreeing to it.” She whispered before planting a small kiss on his lips. She watched as the buildings sped past them working their way towards the museum. She used to go to the MET all the time with her parents but hadn’t been back since. Her relationship with her parents wasn’t that great anymore since she neglected to tell them she was pregnant. They weren’t too pleased when they found out on their own and decided that Sohvi was no longer the women they raised her to be. Thoughts about her family left her mind as the taxi came to a halt. She opened the door and got out as she looked at the iconic museum. “It’s been such a long time since I’ve been here.” She stated as she looked back at Rex. They made their way up the steps and into the museum where they began wandering around aimlessly.

-- If things could be more normal, more domestic, in Rex's life, he probably would have ran in the opposite direction. Unwilling to admit to the fact that this was destructive behavior, he wrote it off as being incredibly dedicated to keeping life interesting. What fun was life when everything was peaches and cream? What fun was life when you were sitting at a breakfast table with a wife and kids? There was no appeal in the image. He grew up in a steady household; traditionally Catholic, every bit the white picket fence on the outside and well, quite nearly the same on the inside. His was a family that cracked the whip when it came to bestowing wholesome traits on their children. Yet somehow neither of them turned out that way. Rex getting his first exposure to the sexual world at fifteen and, in realizing the power such acts held over women (and men if you really wanted to fuck someone over), he used it to his advantage around every corner. He'd drank, he'd done drugs, he'd been the cliche of cliche's for a typical like "rich brat." In a sick way, Ibiza following in his footsteps seemed to make him swell with pride. He wasn't ashamed of who he was, but it frustrated him to no end when he was being forced (by himself, but those are just details, right?) to be repulsively domestic.
------ "We're going to be late!"
-- The voice practically echoed in his ears and he scowled, rolling away from the sound as if it was going to pain him to hear it again. Curling his legs, he yanked one of the vacated pillows beside him and covered his head with it. If I can't see you, you obviously can't see me. Hearing the shower running, the sound of the gorgeous brunette he'd spent the night with shouting, he snorted. 'Thats what you get for waking me up,' he thought. Within minutes he was finding himself unable to carry himself back to sleep. Fuck it. Throwing the pillow off the side of the bed, he threw the blanket off him in a huff. His nakedness reminding him of the previous night. A smirk formed, recalling how perfect things tended to be in the bedroom. It was only when he remembered the reason why she was waking him up at... What time was it? It didn't even matter, it was earlier than noon and he was not happy. Not happy with being woken up and not happy with their plans. He'd agreed initially, but within minutes he'd realized what he agreed to and attempted to backpeddle as fast as his mouth could move. Eventually he sighed in defeat and mentally agreed that perhaps a public display of their relationship would be good for them. Yet somehow he felt an impending doom. Things had been so good lately, why did they have to change? A date, a real and true date, was his metaphorical way of attaching a chain to Sohvi. This would make it real. This would make it official. This would mean he had to be monogamous and not fault. -- Dates were not normally supposed to be this much pressure. Shouldn't monogamy have been a given when he - in a round-about way - asked her to be his girlfriend? He'd not strayed since they got back together, but only because the idea that he could do so was still open. It was a twisted logic, but it was one he'd clung to since the first time he'd ever had a girlfriend. At least a girlfriend post-sex, because really, who counted the girls you didn't get to bone? Standing up, subconsciously determined to make this as painful for her as it was him, he tugged on a clean pair of boxers without thinking to shower. He was torn on the entire outting. Part of him was happy to be able to go out like a nomal couple, to stake his claim on the girl, but the other half of him - the more irrational and selfish side - was dreading it. Wandering around the room, occassionally kicking a discarded piece of clothing or a shoe, even stepping on a nearly empty pack of cigarettes in the process, he made the mental note to make Sohvi clean up. It only took him a couple of minutes to get more or less dressed. Spotting her coming out of the bathroom, he made no show at trying to pretend he wasn't watching her. He was not ashamed of the fact that he had a hot girlfriend and he was attracted to her. Attracted to her both emotionally and physically - the prior being a fact he'd been unwilling to admit to himself. -- Taking the poptart offered, he stuffed it in his mouth wordlessly. Rex had barely heard her greeting and chose to ignore it instead of saying something rude. That had to be a step in the right direction of a mature relationship, right? She had to give him credit. Keeping his mouth shut, his eyes drooping slightly as they sat in a cab some minutes later, he absently kept a hand on her leg. That was his way of showing affection. He wasn't going to skip down the street with their hands laced, but he could stroke her thigh and make sure she knew that he wanted her nearly every minute of every day even while he accused her of still being fat from her recent pregnancy.
------ "This is going to be fun." Her hand squeezed his. "Thank you for agreeing to it."
-- A flicker of a smile graced his face for a moment and, hoping she didn't notice, he traded it in for a more neutral expression to accompany his shrug. Her kiss brightened him considerably, however, and this time he smiled without wiping his face clean. "as long as we do more of that, i'll be... pleasant."
He rested one of his hands on her hip and tugged her closer to him - the ever present perverted hound dog controlling him for a split second - and kissed her again. "i wonder how big their restrooms are." Pulling away with a couple ideas about how he could make this trip more appealing, he was suddenly feeling more optimistic. The cab stopped and he jumped out fairly quickly. He was dressed casually and looking at the building he felt a surge of error on his part. Wearing jeans and a t-shirt didn't seem to jive with the feel of it all, but he shrugged it off. Sohvi was dressed similarly and he didn't much care for silly dress codes in the first place. ------ "It’s been such a long time since I’ve been here."-- He nodded as he marched around to the other side of the cab to follow her up to the building. The second they were inside he was momentarily inspired, but after walking around a bit, his interest had dwindled. "maybe last time you were here, there were better exhibits..." he complained, strolling around with his hands in his pockets. At least there were plenty of people around that he could watch. They seemed to be much more interesting. He made a couple faces at little kids passing by, blew a kiss or two at a couple of women that were very nearly three times his age, and went as far as licking his lips and giving a swift nod of his head to a woman giving some group a tour. Immaturity at it's finest, but it was better than making a scene, right? Well, to some degree, perhaps, but even the entertaining faces (if they were funny to him, they had to be funny to everyone else!) behind Sohvi's back grew tiresome. -- Spotting a man that wasn't much older than himself, he practically laughed out loud at the sudden urge that went through his brain. He was very blatantly of the heterosexual variety and he was too serious for Rex to comprehend. "hey, hey, sohv, watch this, this is going to be so fucking funny!" Tugging at her arm like a school boy as he spoke, he let go only to leave her side and stride up to the man with his best impression of the gayest man he knew. "hey big boy," he smiled sheepishly, feigning embarrassment. "i saw you admiring one of the pictures over there and well, my girl friend over there, well, y'know, she convinced me that i should just be more bold and like, i don't know, ask you for your number." He reached over to grope the guys arm for a second, the entire time he was talking he waved his hand about in a flamboyant fashion. -- Refusing to look back to see Sohvi's expression - the hilarious humor that must have overwhelmed her by this point - until just this point, it was long enough to set the guy off. Just as the guy socked Rex in the jaw, a security guard not far off stepped in to grab the guy and walk him off to calm him down, casting exhasperated looks at Rex - particularly stating that he'd be watching them for the duration of their stay. "brilliant, right?!" The concept that Sohvi would not be impressed was no where near his line of thinking. NOTES now stop yo' bitchin'. SO FITTING [/blockquote][/blockquote][/sub]

A trip to the museum hardly seemed like asking for a lot but Sohvi still found herself worried when she finally uttered the words. Her relationship with Rex was hardly normal and while that didn’t really bother her she was ashamed of having others look at them strangely. She was altogether too used to be scrutinized by her family and friends especially just a few months ago while she was pregnant. She had neglected to tell her family the truth and because of that she had completely ostracized herself from them. They didn’t want to speak with her after the massive lie she had weaved. She had only hoped that she could spare them the heartbreak that she had to endure herself but it didn’t seem to be quite as easy. She never truly expected it to be so hard on her emotionally. She liked to pretend that she was strong and very tough but truly she was just a scared little girl who wanted desperately for someone to be there by her side through the whole ordeal.
She couldn’t seem to run away fast enough from the memories of the past few months. She couldn’t get the image of her swollen belly out of her head fast enough but it seemed no matter how far she ran she was never able to get her little girl’s face out of her head. She knew that she had made the better decision and that her sweet little girl was better off with her new family than she ever would be with Sohvi. She found herself often wondering what it would have been like to raise her child herself. She thought of all the memories she was missing out on each day such as her first smile or her first laugh. She wanted so much to be there and to truly know her daughter but she knew she had given up all of her rights to do so. She had spoken to her biological Father about it to see if he had any insight but sadly his advice didn’t offer her any comfort. She was doing her best to move on and forget about the past few months and she found it easy to do while with Rex. They never spoke of her pregnancy or really about anything with a lot of depth at all. They both were hiding away from time in hopes that they wouldn’t be forced to grow up and face the outside world.
As they made their way out of his apartment she couldn’t help but hope that everything would go smoothly today. As they stood outside on the sidewalk she couldn’t help but stare at him as he hailed a cab for the two of them. She was undeniably attracted to Rex although he was hardly her type. She didn’t quite know why she was so attracted to him but she was in every possible way. They had a way of understanding one another that she wasn’t able to find in most guys. He didn’t compliment her to make her feel better or pretend that everything was okay when it honestly wasn’t. She knew their relationship was far from perfect but it seemed to work out just fine for them. They let their bodies do most of the talking yet she didn’t really mind it. The sex was good, great even and for now it seemed like enough but Sohvi knew she would always want more. She grew up like most normal girls who dreamed of weddings, children, and the loving husband and while she wanted to believe that Rex could grow up and maybe want what she wanted in the future she knew that it most likely would never happen.
She smiled into his kiss as he pulled her body closer to his own. Thoughts of sex in the museum bathroom excited her but she didn’t want to admit to that. She simply rolled her eyes and shook her head wanting so much for this to be a normal date. Strolling through the rooms aimlessly Sohvi couldn’t help but get slightly annoyed at Rex’s behavior. She knew he didn’t think she could see him but she could and as she watched the women stare at him she could feel her jealousy building up once again. She found it hard to trust him knowing all too well what he was capable of as it had happened before. She was staring at one of the paintings in front of her completely in a daze before she felt Rex tugging her away. “What?” she asked a bit confused by his intentions. She watched him curiously as he walked up to the older man and she watched as the man’s face seemed to grow angrier by the second until he punched Rex square in the jaw. She panicked and rushed to his side without even thinking about it. Her hand reached up to his face as she looked into his eyes and shook her head with confusion.
“Why would you do that?” she asked altogether too confused on why he thought it was funny at all. She rubbed her hand against his face as she felt her heart racing with worry before she pulled it away and rolled her eyes. “I was a fool to think that maybe just this once we could be normal.” She said before turning away from him. She took in a deep breathe before deciding she didn’t want to be here anymore. She felt her cheeks flush in embarrassment as the crowds of people in the museum stared at them and she couldn’t seem to walk away from him fast enough. She couldn’t understand why he thought that was amusing in the slightest and she was beginning to wonder why she hadn’t expected it. “I should have known that this would happen.” She mumbled before she brushed her hair out of her face finally making it out of the building. She felt her anger building up yet she was more embarrassed that she had even thought this would work. “I should have known better than to come here.” She said with a shrug as she tried to catch her breathe letting herself get so worked up by Rex’s little joke.
